MODEL INFORMATION
The Bultaco TSS was the most important model of the Bultaco brand. This model was evolving over the years in terms of both engine displacement and development and its chassis components. The first units were single-cylinder, 2-stroke air-cooled engines. However, it was the water-cooled models that had the most success in the GP’s of the World Championship.
In 1964, a new TSS with a 244 cc engine and liquid cooling appeared, a brand new project despite sharing some components with the 200. The 1965 World Cup saw the debut of the new TSS 125 and 250 with liquid cooling, called TSS Agua. Meanwhile, Bultaco changed the carburetor feed system of the TSS for with electronic ignition (Femsa brand). The new 125 came with this improvement to 27 bhp (27.4 hp) at 11,000 rpm, while the 250 delivered 38 bhp (38.5 hp) at 9,500 rpm. The lubrication had remained the same as in the previous version, which limited the maximum engine speed, especially that of the 250 (whose engine could have reached 9,800 rpm, but was restricted for safety reasons).
